Welcome to

St Nicholas Church in Wales Primary School

We are a voluntary-controlled school situated in the village of St. Nicholas, in the Vale of Glamorgan. We have 126 spaces in the school and our current number on roll is full at 126.

Any applications for places at the school should be made to the Vale of Glamorgan Council

www.valeofglamorgan.gov.uk/en/working/education_and_skills/schools/admissions/school%20admissions.aspx

The school consists of two buildings: the first, the old village school, was built in the 1850s; and the second, is a modern flat-roofed building and contains three classrooms, a large hall, a small staff room, offices and a kitchen. Alongside this building is a large playing field in which there is a children’s garden, a climbing trail, planting beds, an outdoor stage and seating, a football and a rugby pitch and, at the far end, a woodland area including a conservation area and pond.

The current building operates as a twin site, the main site accommodating the majority of the pupils with the lower, old village school being travelled to and from by a class of pupils and their associated staff on a daily basis.

Our staff and parents work extremely hard to ensure that all our children have the richest variety of experiences and every means of support available in order to flourish.

This aspiration is made clear within our Mission Statament, our aim is to 'celebrate every achievement as a whole church-school family'.

ATTENDANCE

Attendance at school is critical to our children's life chances - if they are not in school, they will miss out on the learning taking place. Our aim is to ensure that all our pupils are in school and learning at every opportunity.

The attendance up until the end of Spring Term 2015 was 94.3%, our aim is to exceed 95% this academic year.

Please assist us, and your child, by supporting this target.

Thank you.
